Since it was founded in 1938, the Mother Cabrini League began as a way to collect funds for the beatification and canonization of Mother Cabrini and as a way to extend her work to others after her passing. For more than 75 years, the League has endeavored to share Mother Cabrini’s story in the hopes that people will, through her intercession, come to know the love of God and receive His blessings. The League receives countless letters from its members around the world, asking for prayer requests from the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, as well as letters of thanksgiving for blessings they believe are attributed to Mother Cabrini’s intercession. There is no fee to join the League and an invitation to join is extended to all. Offerings are voluntary. The League publishes the Mother Cabrini Messenger, a newsletter containing prayers, news about the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and their missions, and letters from members of the League who have been blessed. The Messenger is published five times a year. To become a member of the Mother Cabrini League, please write, call, or email them directly.

Mother Cabrini was fascinated by the mountains of Colorado. In the early 1900s, she was able to purchase property in Golden, CO to use as a summer camp for the children she cared for at the Queen of Heaven Orphanage in Denver. After her death, the site became a place of pilgrimage where the faithful could walk the paths Mother Cabrini once traveled for meditation and peaceful reflection. The Shrine is home to several attractions Mother Cabrini built on the site, including the Stone House, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is also home to a replica of the grotto in Lourdes, France dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes, the Stairway of Prayer, and a heart made of stones overlooking the city of Denver that Mother Cabrini formed to honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
